A church that is full of confident disciples

Discipleship means following closely the commands and teaching of Jesus. But confidence is also crucial for us, almost as crucial as being a disciple in the first place. If we have no confidence in the power of God to change lives how can we expect other people to accept what we proclaim? As we reach out to people they must see the confidence that we have for our future. Confidence that God will lead us, will provide for us, and confidence that He will save us. We can be confident, not because we deserve it or because of anything we do, but because of the revelation of salvation through Jesus that comes from God. We can be confident because of the fact that God knows exactly what we go through since he went through the same trials and hardships while He was on earth in the form of Jesus. That confidence will then feed our discipleship as we attempt to become ever more like Jesus.
