A church that is true to the gospel

'The gospel' is a phrase that is bandied around quite freely and it can be helpful for us to be reminded of its origin and meaning. The gospel is the good news that we can have salvation from our sins through the sacrificial death and later resurrection of Jesus, the Christ. Whenever people have wavered from the basic and essential elements of the one true gospel, collapse has followed - the collapse of people's lives with God, and the collapse of church fellowships. We believe we must remain in touch with and in line with the essence of the gospel message; that is the truth of the virgin birth, the death the resurrection and the ascension of Jesus. Also that it is through His blood that we are forgiven of our sins and it is only by the grace of God working through the power of the Holy Spirit that we can enjoy that salvation. In the past whenever Christians have fearlessly and fervently preached these gospel truths they have seen wonderful things happen in the name of God. We believe that if we today stay true to our own gospel beliefs, and fearlessly proclaim them to people around us, then we will see more great things happen in His name.
