A church characterised by love.

Underlying this whole future vision is the principle of love. This is crucial if we are to succeed. We as individuals and as a body of people should be characterised by the love we have for one another and for God. Love is one of the most important weapons we have at our disposal in the war against Satan. Love is directly opposed to everything Satan stands for and because of that it is the one thing he cannot fight against. It was Jesus' love for us that defeated Satan initially and it will be our love for others that will rescue them from Satan's clutches now. The Apostle John says we are called to love one another, if we are genuinely re-born as children of God then love should be the most visible characteristic we have. The kind of love that is self-sacrificing and self-denying, the kind of love that people outside the church are astonished by. This kind of love is not well known in the world today but when it is seen people take notice. When we are able to show that level of love to each other, and to other people, we will know that we are being the kind of Christians God wants us to be. We will be loving as Jesus loved us.
