Title: SAFETY and EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Purpose: To inform all Building users of their responsibilities and relevant procedures in the event of any Fire or other Emergency when any members of the public are present.

Scope:
This document contains all the necessary information and location drawings to inform Group Leaders on Church Emergency Procedures for safe evacuation in the event of Fire or other identified Emergency.

Objectives:
Every person who acts as leader of Group or Congregation meeting in any part of the Church buildings for any purpose will:
1. Be informed and able to act correctly in the event of Fire or other medical Emergency.
2. Be able to recognise the need for and take control of any Emergency that may arise.

Specifically:
1. Be familiar with the supplied floor plan and be able to describe and follow a route to the nearest exit from their meeting place, or an alternative should that become necessary.
2. Using the supplied floor plan, be able to describe and locate the position of the nearest 2 available Fire extinguishers.
3. Be able to use an extinguisher, circumstances permitting, and in consideration of personal safety but DO NOT TAKE PERSONAL RISKS TO SAVE PROPERTY.
4. Know the position of the First Aid boxes located in the flower vestry and kitchen.
